Educated in Switzerland, Risa’s creative process began when she was exposed to the various decorating trends of the elegant hotel and restaurant field. But her passion for Interior Design was whetted when she studied the techniques of stylish table arrangements and event staging for various social functions, which would later lead her to take an Interior Design course in Canada College. Through her travels Risa further developed a keen sense of incorporating rustic art and contemporary pieces with witty sophistication. Soon she took on more projects and offered color consultancy. By 1990, her design career was off the ground as she continued in her very own creative expression.

Risa was known for her sharp eye and confidence in color combination. Her unique style of refinishing existing furniture and walls with special painting techniques were affordable yet more than enough to completely renew the home ambience.

In the era where full scope renovations seemed to be the only way to re-do a home, Risa’s unique "recession-proof" Redesign pitch quickly became popular. It was a fast, quiet, no mess approach to a fresh and newly designed space. Her flair for using existing furniture with contemporary design techniques enhanced her client’s personality while updating the final finish of each home she worked on. "I believe an ideal home should exude the personality of the resident (instead of the designers)," she maintains. Risa’s business flourished as she began to focus not only on styling homes but also cafés, showrooms and offices.

Today as a certified Chief Redesigner and Real Estate Stager for R Style Designs in the Bay Area, Risa continues to create tastefully designed living spaces with her distinct style and professionalism.
